The Gunners have offered a contract to former player Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to Turkish media outlet Aksam, with the 25-year-old’s contact with Besiktas set to expire in the summer.
Arsene Wenger has spent heavily over the past two transfer windows, bringing in Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a combined £112 million.
The Frenchman has become notorious in the game for his frugal approach to transfers, so it would come as not surprise to see him tighten the purse strings this summer, after his lavish recent spending.
Aksam claim that the Frenchman has already spoken to Ozyakup, 25, about a summer moved to the Emirates, and that Arsenal have in fact offered the midfielder a contract, with his current deal in Turkey set to expire in the summer.
