Should Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger be still interested in acquiring the services of Schalke 04’s wonderkid Julian Draxler, they will have serious competition from Italian giants Juventus according to the SUN newspaper.
Draxler was a subject of a bid said to be as high as 40 million pounds from the gunners in the last transfer window and reports claim they will be trying to sign the high rated midfielder again in January but if the SUN are to be believed, they will not have it easy as Juventus also want the player.
Although after signing Ozil, Wenger is reportedly not keen on a move in January but still want the player for next summer when Rosicky would reportedly have left the gunners but Juventus’ interest may force his hands according to the reports.
Juventus are believed to be ready to pay as much as 45 million pounds for the player which means they will either win the race if Schalke 04 decides to sell or the Gunners will have to match that price if they also want the player.
On a personal note, I do not think we need Draxler, he is a good player whose versatility we could do with but with Ox around, I do not see us signing him. If we must sign another player from Germany, I will gladly go for Marco Reus who I sincerely believe Wenger can turn to a prolific striker ( false 9 ).
