Arsenal are one of the clubs in the running to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro in the summer transfer window, according to Bookmakers via the Daily Star.
More than half of Madrid’s current players have been linked with a move away from the club as Fiorentino Perez reportedly plans for a major overhaul of his playing squad and a good number of these players whose futures are under threat have been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Bookmakers Coral have mentioned Arsenal as one of Premier League clubs that could make a move for the Brazilian.
London Rivals Chelsea are understood to be favourites for the midfielder’s signature, with Coral pricing a move to Stamford Bridge at evens.
Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are also said to be in the race for the 25 year old.
Coral’s John Hill told Starsport: “Chelsea may have to splash the cash this summer if they are to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City in the Premier League.
“It would be no surprise to see the likes of Casemiro at the top of their shopping list.”
Arsenal are expected to make a move for a defensive midfielder in the summer, with reports in Turkey claiming Wenger is obsessed with signing Oguzhan Ozyakup.
However, Casmeiro will be a better signing as he is clearly the more proven and experienced player.
Playing and winning two consecutive Champions League finals for Madrid isn’t an easy feat and playing a key role in both of them even makes him more special.
