If the reports from both Spain and the People newspaper in England are anything to go by, Arsenal may be signing Real Madrid and France’s Karim Benzema in January for as little as 17 million pounds as Real Madrid are now battling a financial crisis and need to sell some players to safe the club from going into administration. Just yesterday, it was revealed by a former director of Real Madrid that the club sold Ozil and Higuain to Arsenal and Napoli respectively due to the club’s financial problems.
The PEOPLE are now claiming Arsenal and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United may just be able to get the player on the cheap as Florentino Perez is getting increasingly desperately to save the club from administration.
Benzema was reportedly offered to Arsenal for 30 million pounds in August but Wenger turned down the opportunity of signing his long term target due to the big fee Real Madrid were demanding for him.
Of all the three interested clubs, it is believe Arsenal have the most chance and the most need for the player. Manchester United already have Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, chicarito and Welbeck but according to the reports, they are likely to move for Benzema in January if Rooney decides to force a move away from the club in January. Chelsea on the other hand already have Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o Fils.
