Arsenal’s injury worries have gone from bad to worse with the news that Lukas Podolski could be out for up to eight months.
The German international was taken off on a stretcher in the 2-0 second leg victory over Fenerbahce in the Champions League qualifier. At first, it as believed Podolski would be out for up to eight weeks with a severe hamstring injury, but things have taken a turn for the worse.
German news agency Speigel broke the news claiming the forward will miss the rest of 2013. He joins Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who is also out for three months with ligament damage suffered against Aston Villa as well as Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby who are on the sidelines.
Podolski was quoted as confirming the news.
‘Unfortunately, I’ll be out for a while, about three months.”
