Recently, news made the round that PSG midfielder Javier Pastore could he heading for the exit door at Parc de Prince in search of regular first team football with Arsenal and Chelsea touted as possible destination. Now, it seems they have a new rival in the race for the Argentine and it’s Liverpool. According to Express, Rodgers is contemplating a move for the former Palermo star.
Daily Express opines that Rodgers is confident of beating Chelsea and Arsenal to his signature. I wonder what the confidence stems from when there’s no European football incentive.
Pastore is said to carry a price-tag of 20 million Pounds. How does Liverpool expect to raise the money except they sell a star. Maybe they are already thinking how to expend the money they will realize from Suarez’s sale. Maybe Suarez is coming to Arsenal after all.
According to the report, Pastore’s agent Marcelo Simanian has already ruled out a return to Italy, hence, increasing his chances of a Premier League switch and former PSG, Spurs and Newcastle midfielder David Ginola also believes Pastore could head to England in the winter if he continues to be left out at PSG.
“Why not? Anyone talented can do well in the Premier League,” Ginola told Express Sport
“If he doesn’t play until Christmas he will probably ask for a move in the winter transfer window. I’m pretty sure about that.”
“For Javier Pastore, if he stays too long and spends too much time on the bench that
would be a problem for him and I’m sure his advisors will consider a move.”
