Arsenal fans have had their signing hijacked in the last minute so many times and if reports coming from the English press this evening is to be believed, that same senario is about to play out with the Jamie Vardy deal. This time the deal is not been hijacked by Leicester City are reportedly set to keep the player.
Arsenal were said to have activated the release clause of the Englishman but new reports have emerged that Leicester City have moved quickly to keep the player and have offered him a new contract which will see him double his current wages.
The reports claim the player remains keen on joining Arsenal but after getting a new offer from Leicester City, there is a real chance he may not be playing for Arsenal next season. Claudio Ranieri is reportedly trying his hardest to convince the player to stay.
If this report is true, it will be a massive blow to Arsenal especially as Vardy is relatively cheap and his signing would have meant Arsenal will have money to spend on someone like Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Borussia Dortmund.
