With Arsene Wenger reiterating recently that he will improve his attacking line ahead of the upcoming season, Arsenal are yet linked to Antoine Griezmann of Athletico Madrid who is valued at £84m, this is according to latest report by renowned sports journalist Emmanuele Giulianelli.
Following the absence of Danny Welbeck due to injury, Arsenal are currently without an outright striker and this leaves them in dire situation as title contenders.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a new striker to offer competition for Olivier Giroud and we’ve been strongly linked with a move for Alexandre Lacazette after missing out on the likes of Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain.
It is claimed by Giulianelli that Griezmann is top choice for Wenger. He is has lined up Lacazette as back up if a deal for Griezmann doesn’t pull through. Knowing well who Wenger is and his dealings in the transfer market, he would not splash such amount on a player but Griezmann would have turned out a fantastic buy for Arsenal.
I guess nobody should be excited about this report. You will agree with me that Lacazette and Mahrez are realistic options for Arsenal than Griezmann. Infact, Griezmann’s asking price would be able to sign Mahrez and Lacazette.
