Arsenal have been given the opportunity of signing 32-year old Spanish first choice goal keeper and captain Iker Casillas by Real Madrid. Casillas was dropped Jose Mourinho last season from the first team with the then new signing Diego Lopez preferred as first choice. It was murmured that the status quo will change once Mourinho leaves and Ancelotti takes over. However, Ancelotti has instead also prefer Diego Lopez which has left Casillas frustrated.
With Madrid looking to recoup some of the money they spent on Gareth Bale and looking for more funds to sign Liverpool’s Luiz Suarez, the club is trying to offer several big earners from their books and as such have offered Arsenal the chance to sign the experience goalkeeper according to daily star. Aside Casillas, Real Madrid are trying to off load Di Maria, Benzema and Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal are currently in the market for a new keeper with the likes of Begovic, Julio Cesar, Valencia’s Vicente Guaita among others reportedly on Arsenal’s radar.
