Rumours regarding Julian Draxler and Arsenal refuse to go away and now it seems the Gunners will go for the young German next summer.
Arsene Wenger failed to lure the Schalke youngster to the Emirates over the summer with Draxler preferring to remain with his club in the hope of a World Cup call up. With competitors such as Thomas Muller, Mario Gotze, Marco Reus and Mesut Özil, he felt staying with Schalke was the best option in the short-term.
Despite their failure, Arsenal have not given up the chase for him and are ready to wait for him until next summer. Schalke are already preparing for his exit with Max Meyer primed to fill the gap he would leave.
Meyer’s emergence means Draxler’s exit is even more possible but the Bundesliga outfit would demand at least £38 million for his signature, which is a high fee for a relatively unproven talent. The club recently splashed out £42.4 million on Özil but he has been at the top of his game for years with Draxler being much more of a gamble.
His reputation hasn’t just reached the likes of North London with Real Madrid and Juventus also registering a keen in the most sought after German youngster right now.
