If reports from Germany are anything to go by, Arsenal’s pursuit of Marco Reus has taken a turn for the worse with Manchester United also interested in the attacker.
Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the Borussia Dortmund winger/forward and is willing to make him the clubs next big money signing after the arrival of £42.4 million man Mesut Özil.
David Moyes’ transfer dealings have put him under immense pressure with fans expecting movement in January and the United manager has identified Reus as a possible target.
Wenger is still confident of luring Reus to the Emirates with Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Özil on hand to add extra encouragement while the Frenchman’s ability to speak German could also give the Gunners a small advantage.
The 24-year-old is in no rush to leave the Signal Iduna Park but will leave if it suits both him and the club and bids of between £30-40 million should be enough to prise him away from Dortmund.
