Arsenal have begun negotiations over a new contract for Aaron Ramsey, who is pushing the club for a big-money deal, according to reports.
Ramsey has been in great form for the Gunners this season – his hat-trick against Everton at the weekend took his goal tally to six this term and he also has six assists.
However, the recent big-money arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, plus the new £350,000-a-week contract they handed Ozil in January, have effectively moved the goalposts at the north London club.
Arsene Wenger has admitted more of his players will want to follow suit.
And, according to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are bracing themselves for difficult negotiations with the Welshman’s representatives, with Ramsey demanding a similar deal to stay.
After the Sanchez and Ozil situation, the Gunners are facing another potential contract crisis.
Jack Wilshere is still yet to pen new terms to extend his contract beyond this season, while they have a number of regular first-teamers who will enter the final 12 months of their deals next season, including Ramsey, Petr Cech, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck.
