The days of Arsene Wenger at the Emirates are now numbered and Arsenal may not need to search hard for his replacement.
According to report, the manager of Juventus Massimiliano Allegri wants to take over the helms of Arsenal from Arsene Wenger.
The Sun claims that the 49-year-old’s agent has already held positive discussions with the Gunners, who are assessing their options if Wenger leaves at the end of his current contract next summer.
Several names have been thrown up including Eddie Howee and Diego Simeone. Simeone has revealed that he want to join Inter Milan, and given the pedigree of Howee, Allegri is a better option than he is.
Allegri, who has won Serie A titles at AC Milan and Juventus, is expected to leave the Italian champions at the end of the season.
Last week, Wenger confirmed that he will not decide his future until the closing stages of the campaign.
‘I will judge where I stand in spring and make my decisions then,’ said the Arsenal manager.
‘And the club is free as well. It’s not because I am here a long time that I have any rights. We are both on the same boat.’
