James Rodriguez wants to move to the Premier League in the summer, according to Don Balon via the Daily Star.
Rodriguez joined Bayern Munich last summer on a two year loan deal but the Colombian is reportedly unhappy at the Allianz Arena and is looking to end his time at the club.
The report claims Rodriguez first and foremost wants to return to Madrid but if there’s no place for him at the Bernabeu, then he’ll look to the Premier League.
Arsenal are believed to be interested in the midfielder, who has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this season, scoring four times and providing eight assists.
Liverpool who will be in the market to replace Phillipe Coutinho in the summer are also believed to be keen on the Colombian international.
Champions League football is expected to be the deciding factor, if the playmaker has to choose between any of Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Gunners are expected to sign top players in the summer in order to bridge the gap between itself and Manchester City and players like Rodriguez are the quality we should be looking at.
However, I don’t think Arsenal need Rodriguez. Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are similar players to the Colombian, so bringing him would mean the club stocking a particular type of player, which would limit our options to try different things.
