Luka Modric is desperate to join Arsenal, according to reports.

Modric is regarded as one of football’s best midfielder’s and has been key to Madrid’s dominance in Europe.

Despite still being a key part of Madrid team, a report in Spain is claiming the midfielder is eyeing a return to the Premier League.

Modric who left Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid in 2012 is believed to be desperate to return to North London, but this time with Arsenal.

Just like the whole Madrid team, Modric hasn’t been in the best form this season and with the club reportedly preparing for a major overhaul of its playing staff, the Croatia international is said to be considering a fresh start.

And Diario Gol via the Daily Cannon claim Arsenal are his preferred destination.

The report also claims Madrid are willing to sell the midfielder who has made just 17 league starts this season.

At 32, Modric is long past his prime, so it isn’t actually surprising to see his form drop but I don’t think a poor season would be enough for Madrid to sell.

Even if they decide to, it is unclear how much Madrid would want to sell, considering he still has about two years left in his contract.

Arsenal are reportedly in the market for a new centre midfielder but I doubt we will be in the mix to sign him, considering his age and the fact that Madrid would be looking to get a huge fee for him.

His history with Spurs will also make the player think twice about joining Arsenal even though the report claims otherwise.
