As Wenger continues to search and work hard for a world class striker, French international striker Karim Benzema is a player that will tick the boxes for us and may come on a relatively cheap price following the Los Blancos deal for Alvaro Morata.
Arsene Wenger has been a staunch admirer of the goal poacher. He was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal but we Real Madrid did not allow him off their radar as they had no other striker in his stead.
However, Arsenal target Alvaro Morata returned to the Santiago Bernabeu after spending two years with the Old Lady and he is expected to be favored as the man to lead the attack of the Champions League holders than Benzema. At Arsenal Benzema will have little or no competition in the striking position.
A few months ago, French journalist Sylvain Jamet told Daily Cannon that Real Madrid has put to bed any chance of Benzema exiting the Bernabeau this summer, no matter what price gets offered.
“There’s no chance of Benzema leaving.
The French striker reportedly has a really close relationship with Zinedine Zidane, so unless Zidane gets sacked, Benzema will be going nowhere.”
Notwithstanding, we know that in the modern transfer market money is the main factor that determines the movement of players from one club to another. The 28year old is valued at 60million Euros, which is reasonable.
Arsenal on the other hand should prepare themselves in lowering standards by making an offer for top-level talent capable of taking on French striker Olivier Giroud for the number 1 spot.
We have been linked with several strikers beginning this summer but most of their are first choices for the teams and are comfortable. For Benzema, this season might proof the hardest for him with the presence of Morata. Arsenal can get a deal done for the player.
He scored 28 goals in 36 La Liga games last season.
