ARSENAL and Chelsea are keeping tabs on £54m-rated Roma winger Cengiz Under as the January transfer window approaches,
Arsenal splashed the cash in the summer as Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi reshaped the squad Unai Emery inherited from Arsene Wenger.
And the Gunners now have Under in their sights as they seek to build on a promising start to Emery’s tenure in north London.
Transfer Market Web reckon Arsenal are tracking Under, who joined Roma from Istanbul Basaksehir in July 2017 for around £12m.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are credited with interest in taking Under to Germany.
But Arsenal might also face familiar competition for his signature in the form of cross-city rivals Chelsea.
Transfer Market Web indicate Chelsea are monitoring Under with the next opportunity to buy players just weeks away.
Maurizio Sarri is still feeling his way into the job at Stamford Bridge having replaced Antonio Conte back in July.
And he could add Under to Chelsea‘s attacking department which already boasts the talents of Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro.
Manchester City, who almost snapped up Under before Roma nabbed him, are said to be in the hunt for Under as well.
Under has scored five goals and provided four assists for Eusebio Di Francesco’s Roma so far this season.
And they are unlikely to be willing to entertain a deal for him in January while they sit seventh in Serie A.
Under could quit the Stadio Olimpico when the current campaign draws to a close.
Roma will not let the 21-year-old head for the exit door on the cheap though given his impressive exploits.
It is claimed Roma will look for around £54m (€60m) before sanctioning a move.
Meanwhile, Under will be eager to make an impression on Saturday when Roma travel to Serie A leaders Juventus.
