We are just a fortnight away from the close of the transfer market and Arsenal are yet struggling to reinforce the obvious loopholes in the squad.
Bar the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borrusia Monchengladback, Arsenal have not signed any established player despites reports claiming there has been offers from Arsenal for their targets.
Since the inception of this summer, Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for France born Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, but reports are in the claim that the player wants a move to Chelsea instead.
Koulibaly’s and his agent fell out with the president of Napoli Aurelio De Laurentis due to contractual breakdown and the agent is offering the player to Chelsea – the Blues are understood to have seen a €45 million rebuffed already but they are likely to improve upon their first bid.
There is no doubting the French born Senegalese defender’s qualities. He is able to cover in the defensive midfield position and at right back with ease, but his size and qualities demand a start at center back most of time. He absolutely dominated Serie A teams with his 6’5 frame and presence, only allowing 1 goal last season due to his own mistake – A pretty impressive stat.
Arsenal have been on the look out for defensive reinforcement, with Mustafi top on the list. However, we are struggling to meet the valuation of our target and I doubt we’ll be able to pay what Napoli are demanding for 25year old.
