Arsenal Emerge As Shock Suitors For Real Madrid Want-Away: Can This Actually Happen?
Arsenal are absent from the Champions League next season but they are slowly accumulating a top class squad for the next campaign, where they will be busy with the Europa League along with three different domestic competitions.
The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac are expected to walk into the first team next season but Arsene Wenger is not entirely confident of his options and wants to add some quality to his lineup before the start of the next season. And with little chance of keeping Alexis Sanchez at the club beyond the transfer window, they are looking for a high profile winger, who can make the difference next season.
AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado are at the top of the wish list for Wenger, but according to a few reports today, they are looking to sign a former Tottenham Hotspur player from Real Madrid.
According to reports from Spanish news outfit Don Balon, Arsenal are now in the race to sign Welsh international Gareth Bale this summer. The 28-year old has been at the Bernabeu since 2013 and is the first choice winger for every manager at the club ever since, but consistent injuries and lack of form, coupled with the influx of talent at the Spanish capital, has now left him fighting for a place in the first team at Real Madrid.
Known for his strength and pace on the flank, Bale is a gifted and complete footballer, who can walk into most of the top squads in Europe. He is easily one of the best wingers around at the moment but he managed just 17 starts in the domestic league last season and is slowly losing the faith of Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
There are very few players who could walk into Arsenal’s squad to replace the outgoing Chilean but Bale is one such name, at the top of the list. Having enough experience in the English style of the game, Bale will be the first choice on the flank for Arsene Wenger and a front three of Mesut Ozil, Gareth Bale and Alexandre Lacazette, will make Arsenal one of the strongest attacks in England.
However, he is expected to cost a world record fee, which is not something that suits Arsenal so they will want to find a player who can help them save some on Sanchez’ sale later this summer. Do you think Arsenal should look at Bale for the next season?
