Arsenal have launched a shock move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini as they look to bring him in on a free transfer, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian midfielder is approaching the end of his contract at Manchester United and has turned down a one-year deal offered him by United, as he is not impressed by the £80,000 a week wage they are offering.
Arsenal were interested in the 30-year-old when he was at Everton before he moved to Manchester United, but Arsene Wenger didn’t seem to be impressed with his style of play at that time.
However, it is now believed that the new Arsenal boss Unai Emery who was interested in Fellaini when he was manager at Paris Saint Germain is now keen to ward off interests from his former club and AC Milan to land the midfielder on a free.
Fellaini has not always been a fans favorite since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2013, but has been a regular in the team under their last three managers.
This summer however, Manchester United just completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred which will reduce Fellaini’s role in the squad, and will make him consider his options.
