Breaking – Coquelin Ruled Out For Three Months

All Arsenal players were at the top of their game today and they made the ball and Chelsea looked like school boys.

The only negative in the game was the injury picked up by Francis Coquelin, who may be on the sideline for long.

Arsene Wenger confirmed the Arsenal midfielder had suffered a knee injury in the same place he had in a draw with West Bromwich Albion last season.

The French midfielder was substituted off half an hour into his side’s 3-0 win over Chelsea and departed the Emirates in a brace.

“He has a knee injury in the same place he had last year, that’s a negative of the day,” Wenger confirmed.

“We don’t know if the damage is as big at the moment, we have to wait for 48 hours but he left the stadium in a brace. I’m a bit worried over that.”

Coquelin was unavailable for 11 weeks last season after suffering an injury to his right knee in his side’s 2-1 loss at the Hawthorns, though his loss is unlikely to be as keenly felt with Wenger well stocked in midfield.
