ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN wants his current Arsenal wages more than doubled by Chelsea.

Chelsea and Arsenal are in talks over a move to Stamford Bridge for the versatile winger.

The Gunners have struggled to meet the 23-year-old’s wage demands with his contract running down.

Oxlade-Chamberlain now has less than 12 months left on his deal at the Emirates.

And Chelsea are looking to take advantage of his situation.

Antonio Conte needs reinforcement, and Oxlade-Chamberlain helps both with bolstering the Blues’ midfield and their homegrown quota.

According to Goal, the England international earns £65,000 a week at Arsenal.

But he does not intend on putting pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

Chelsea will need to pay £35m to convince Arsenal into selling him.

And Goal add Oxlade-Chamberlain wants wages of £150,000 a week at Chelsea.

The Premier League champions are trying to push through a deal.

And with Arsenal failing in their bid to offload a host of fringe players, they could be forced to sell.

Arsenal would lose Oxlade-Chamberlain for free next summer as things stand.

As a result, they could allow Chelsea to swoop, but they would have to reach an agreement with the player too.

Conte could use Oxlade-Chamberlain in a wing-back role, in central midfield and in attack should he join.

And the boss is keen for further additions too before the window shuts, with Danny Drinkwater and Virgil van Dijk also being pursued.
