BARCELONA are lining up a shock move for former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, as they look to bolster their attacking options.
The Catalan club are looking to add reinforcements after the departure of Munir El Haddadi earlier this month.
Munir was sold to fellow La Liga club Sevilla after the 23-year-old deemed he wasn’t getting enough game time.
And according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, Barca have turned their attentions to Los Angeles FC hit-man Vela.
Vela has largely enjoyed life out in the United States, and is one of Los Angeles’ most important players.
The Mexican first played in Europe under Arsene Wenger at the Gunners in 2005 and has since had an abundance of loan spells with different Spanish teams.
He last played in La Liga for Real Sociedad for six years, after having spent a year on loan with West Brom in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old signed a contract with Los Angeles last year and has scored 14 goals in 29 games with the franchise.
