Bordeaux manager Gus Poyet has stated it won’t be long before the winger will leave the French club.
The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window but Bordeaux weren’t interested in signing, despite the winger wanting to leave.
Malcom has continued to fuel talks about a summer move to the Premier League after his failed January switch and Poyet has admitted that we could see the move happen ‘sooner or later’.
“(Malcom) is a special player who can win matches on his own,” Poyet told Marca, as quoted by the Daily Cannon.
“He is often double-marked because his talent is that special, and in January we were nervous because we almost lost him to the Premier League.
Last week, Malcom told Brazil based newspaper UOL that he already has an agreement with Bordeaux to leave in January.
Although the club president quickly came out to deny anything has been concluded, Poyet’s comments mean there is a big chance he’d be allowed to leave at the end of the season.
Arsenal are expected to face fierce competition from Tottenham for the winger’s signature in the summer.
Spurs reportedly held series of talks with the player’s representative in January and have even taken the winger on a tour round their training complex.
