Napoli are closing in on a decision to trigger the option in David Ospina’s loan agreement and pay the agreed transfer fee to Arsenal.
The arrival of Bernd Leno at Arsenal sealed Ospina’s fate at the club and the goalkeeper was loaned out to Serie A giants Napoli with the Italian club reserving an option to sign him on a permanent deal.
A mandatory purchase option will be triggered if Ospina makes 30 appearances for the club, but it seems Napoli have already decided on what they want to do.
According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A giants are close to making a decision to sign Ospina on a permanent deal and take up the option on him.
Napoli are claimed to be prepared to pay the €3.5m fee they agreed with Arsenal last summer and tie down the goalkeeper on a permanent deal.
Ospina is happy with life at Napoli and is expected to welcome Napoli’s decision to purchase him from Arsenal.
The Colombian wants to continue to play his football in Italy.
