Arsenal will not be signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak this summer.
The La Liga club have confirmed that their prized shot-stopper has signed a new long-term contract.
The 25-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s top shot-stoppers after four seasons in the Spanish capital.
However, his new deal has left Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all disappointed and the trio will have to look elsewhere this summer. As reported by the Sun, Atletico club president Enrique Cerezo said: “I think it’s renewed, in case you did not know.”
Arsenal are said to be in the market for a new man between this sticks. Petr Cech has been inconsistent this season and the veteran is not getting any younger. Meanwhile, David Ospina does not appear to be the answer for Arsene Wenger and the Colombian could be offloaded this season.
Jack Butland has been tipped for a move to the Emirates, though Stoke will be determined to hold onto the No. 1.
