Injuries are part of the game of football but for Arsenal, they have become one of our greatest undoing because of the number of players that sustain injuries and the length of their absence.
The norm for us in previous seasons is that we are decimated heavily by injuries at the end of the year but this season has been difference because of the fact that most of the injuries picked up by our players are short-term.
Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck have been the long absentees, while Carl Jenkinson, Aaron Ramsey and Oliver Giroud have started playing games after their injury lay-offs.
The likes of Hector Bellerin, Theo Walcott and Nacho Monreal have also handed Arsene Wenger some good news heading into this weekend’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur after managing to train on Thursday.
However, it appears that one of Arsenal’s promising youngsters is now facing some time out of action following a new blow.
According to a report by Jorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth, Yassin Fortune is set to be sidelined by an injury which could keep him out for six weeks.
The report claims that the 17-year-old, who has been plagued by fitness worries for the past year, has suffered a recurrence of his hip problem.
Fortune’s absence is likely to be felt by the Arsenal youth team who are still struggling to bounce back from a disappointing start to the Premier Academy League this season.
