Arsenal’s reported £50m summer transfer budget is set to be smashed should they sign Ousmane Dembele before Thursday’s deadline.
According to reports, Unai Emery has persuaded the Gunners hierarchy to bid a staggering £89m for the Barcelona star.
The Frenchman has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, with fans salivating over the possibility of him teaming up with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Dembele, who joined Barca for a club-record £143m last summer struggled to make his mark for the Catalan giants.
He missed much of last season with a serious hamstring injury and struggled to force his way back in to Ernesto Valverde’s first-team plans. Having made just 6 La Liga starts and Dembele could find himself even further down the pecking order following the arrival of Malcom this summer.
The Gunners could be joined by Manchester United, who are also tipped to make a late move for the France international.
