Arsenal are taking a keen interest in Benfica midfielder Andrija Zivkovic, according to a report in Portugal.
The Gunners have had scouts watching the 21-year-old for the last few years and they believed to be planning a summer move for the Serbian.
Portuguese paper O Jogo reported that Arsenal scouts again watched Zivkovic in action in a midfield role as Benfica hammered Rio Ave on Saturday.
Portuguese source Record claimed Arsenal were chasing the player in the summer, despite his reported £52.5million release clause.
Zivkovic moved from Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer in 2016, signing a five-year deal, tieing him to the club until 2021.
He made his debut for Partizan Belgrade as a 17-year-old and he was handed his senior international debut at the same age.
The youngster struggled to adjust to life in Portugal last season, but he has matured into one of Benfica’s key men this time around.
Benfica have a good record of developing young talent before selling them on for big money. Victor Lindelof (£30m) recently signed for Manchester United, while Renato Sanches joined Bayern Munich (£27.5m) in June 2016.
