Arsene Wenger has be responsible for managing all the roles at Arsenal in terms of footballing activities.
ARSENAL are seeking out contenders for a new sporting director role in a major shake-up of the management structure at the Emirates that could spell the end of Arsene Wenger’s stint in charge.
Arsenal manager Wenger has two months to sign a new contract in north London.
His current deal expires in the summer and there are growing calls from the Arsenal fans for Wenger to resign.
Were Wenger to leave it would mean Arsenal appointing a new manager for the first time in two decades.
And the Daily Telegraph claim Gunners officials are also seeking to create a new role at the club for next season.
According to the report, Arsenal are exploring their options and appear to favour appointing a sporting director.
The club will look both abroad and in England for a staff member who would oversee wide-ranging structures in the club, such as sports science, medical facilities, scouting and recruitment.
It would then leave the manager, whether it be Wenger or a new man, free to focus on team matters.
