First, it was Manchester United linked with an unlikely move for Chelsea’s David Luiz, but now it seems Arsenal could be about to make a bid for the out-of favour Brazilian as well.
The Gunners are coming under increasing pressure from their fans to make signings, especially as they are fearful star men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could soon be leaving.
Sanchez has been linked with a £30 million move to Manchester City this transfer window and now, Wenger could use some of that money to make a move for Luiz, who is unhappy at the lack of game time he is getting at Stamford Bridge since his falling out with manager Antonio Conte.
Juventus and Real Madrid have also been linked with the flamboyant Brazilian defender, who did return for the Blues in their goalless draw with Norwich City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
United boss Jose Mourinho is also monitoring events at Stamford Bridge and is said to be keen on linking up with Luiz. It would be his second raid on former club Chelsea having prised Nemanja Matic away from Stamford Bridge in the summer.
