ARSENAL youngster has a bright Bukayo Saka future ahead of him according to former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen.
The 17-year-old made his home Gunners debut in a 1-0 win over Qarabag in the Europa League last night.
And Owen believes the winger has similar attributes to five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Arsenal had already topped their group, essentially making the tie a dead-rubber.
Owen was not only impressed with the London-born player’s performance, but also his post-match demeanour.
That was a brilliant interview,” he commented. “He handled himself great and he played great as well.
“He looked really nervous at the start of the game, myself and Martin were both talking about it.
“But he certainly grew into the game. Just him having the courage to run at players was really refreshing to see.
“Some of the skill… I watched Ronaldo doing this the other day for Juventus.
“It’s absolutely brilliant and so unlucky that it wasn’t given a goal.
“He’s just different class and by the end of the game, his confidence was oozing.
“I just wish that he hadn’t gone for power here [when one-on-one with the goalkeeper].”
Unai Emery said Saka showed ‘very big personality’ on his first start for Arsenal.
“We give them these chances in games like today, when we can do that, and they show us every match positive things,” he said.
“Today Saka also showed a good performance with a very big personality.
