Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly interested in joining Arsenal when Arsene Wenger leaves.
Last week, we brought you the reports that Arsenal were considering a move for Carlo Ancelotti, with the obvious caveat that the Gunners were unlikely to make any sort of changes mid-season.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness claim the Italian is attracted to the prospect of joining Arsenal at the end of the season. It’s believed he would prefer to stay in club football than to take the Italy job.
There are no assurances that the job would be available, even at the end of the season, considering we have no idea how Wenger eventually plans to leave the Gunners. But if Ancelotti turns down the Italy job, it could be a sign that he expects things to change soon.
The Former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich boss has an impressive CV at club level, and has never failed to win at least one trophy with a club since taking over Juventus in 1999. We’ll have to wait and see whether the rumours are true.
Carlo’s experience of the Premier League and of winning Europe’s top competitions will surely count in his favour if Arsenal are looking at him to replace their long-serving manager.
