Unai Emery wants Colombian goalie, David Ospina to remain in Arsenal and fight for his spot even as the goalkeeping race heats up at the club.

The signing of Bernd Leno means that The Gunners have five goalkeepers in the ranks, with Emery hoping to give all the chance to impress before knowing the ones that will be on the books come next season.

Ospina, who represented his country at the World Cup, is being targeted by Argentine outfit, Boca Juniors and is rumoured to be interested in moving to South America to continue his career.

he player has been linked with a move away from the club. Leno arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and is expected to compete with Petr Cech for the number 1 jersey.

Speaking about the goalkeeping situation, Emery was quoted as saying via Sky Sports, “I want to work with Petr Cech, Bernd Leno, Emilio Martinez, Matt Macey, David Ospina,” “It is clear we have many goalkeepers but we want to work in the future with three in the first team but now I want to look, work every day with all the goalkeepers and then I am going to decide the first.”

Ospina is a goalie that has been impressive anytime he is called upon, though he hasn’t made the number 1 position his own. In 4 years, he has made just 70 appearances. The 6ft shotstopper is known for his reflexes and command of his area, and is generally seen as a decent goal custodian.
