Arsenal are prepared to let their star midfielder Aaron Ramsey leave the club if he fails to sign a new contract this summer, according to the The Sun.
Ramsey’s current contract expires at the end of next season and he has not yet agreed a new deal with Arsenal, which is similar to Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil saga last season.
He is believed to be aiming to earn as high as Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who recently signed very lucrative contracts with the club
There are also rumors that he is holding out until the next manager is announced before he makes a decision, which is quite expected of most players as uncertainty over managerial future makes players wary of committing.
Ramsey was voted Arsenal’s Player of the Season by the fans after an impressive contribution of being involved in 23 goals for the side from midfield.
Whatever happens, Ramsey is a key player, one the Gunners cannot afford to lose to a rival, and his agent might well take advantage of that to arm twist the club into offering a him a bigger contract.
