ARSENAL youngster Chris Willock is reportedly closing in on a move to Benfica.
The England Under-19 international has spent the entire 14 years of his fledgling career with the Gunners after joining them as a kid.
And he’s so far been handed two first-team appearances, both of which came in the EFL Cup during the 2016/17 campaign.
Willock looks unlikely to break into Arsene Wenger’s plans on a permanent basis anytime soon though.
And reports suggest the 19-year-old knows he’d be better placed going and plying his trade abroad to continue his development.
According to the Mirror, Willock is currently in Portugal.
And they say he’s there for talks with reigning champions Benfica.
Willock is out of contract at Arsenal this summer.
And that means Benfica can snap him up without stumping up a fee.
Willock is expected to sign a long-term deal soon.
And he could even face Arsenal when they play Benfica in next month’s Emirates Cup.
