Fixtures are getting tighter, the Premier League drama is getting more exciting to watch but Arsenal have since bounced back from a shaky start to a good run of form.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has had a setback and will be fit to play Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend. He picked up a hamstring injury against Liverpool in our League opener.
Ramsey was spotted in Arsenal training after the last international break but he is yet unfit and will not be available for selection this Saturday.
Manager Arsene Wenger is hesitant to gamble on the midfielder’s fitness following his experience with recently loaned out Jack Wilshere who lost his place in the team because of his prolonged injury spell.
While the Frenchman fears rushing Ramsey’s return, he is also frustrated over his slow recovery as reported by The Sun. The inability to put a tentative date on the 25-year-old’s return further worries Wenger.
Ramsey has not featured in the last six games for Arsenal.
He was a core member of Arsenal team that ended last season as runners up and also led Wales into the Semi-finals of Euro 2016. His performance and two goals over the summer saw him being named in the Team of the Tournament.
Wenger’s reluctance to rush the player into action is obviously a result of the number of midfielders that are available to him for selection. Cazorla, Xhaka, Coquelin and Elneny have been doing greatly in midfield and it will be difficult for Ramsey to walk into Arsenal’s first team.
