Big blow! Arsenal receive more bad news on Mohamed Elneny

The good spirits from Arsenal’s 5-0 win away at Southampton were eroded on Sunday as news has broken that the Gunners have a fresh injury concern.

On Sunday in Gabon, Egypt took on Morocco at the African Cup of Nations quarterfinals, but Mohamed Elneny was out of the game with an injury.

Elneny has picked up a calf strain at the competition, while after the match Pharaohs manager Hector Cuper gave an update on the health of the midfielder.

After the match, Cuper confirmed that Elneny will miss out the semifinal against Burkina Faso. He told the media the following:

Considering the injury of Mohamed Elneny, he has a strain in his muscle and we are going to send a medical report to his club Arsenal about his injury because he was injured and we discovered this today (Sunday) this morning,

Mohamed is going to be examined and be treated during the coming days and we hope that if we manage to reach the final then he can participate with us and have a chance to join the team again.
