Arsenal will in a matter of days, not weeks, announce their second MAJOR summer signing if reports in the British media is anything to go by. According to reports in various English media, Arsenal have had a bid accepted by Bolton Wanderers for the signing of their highly rated centre back Rob Holding.
Arsenal had initially had a bid of £750,000 rejected by the Wanderers from Arsenal for Rob Holding but Wenger reportedly went back with a bigger bid of £3.5 million which has now been accepted by Bolton. Personal terms is said to have already been agreed with the player weeks back and all that’s left is for the player to undergo a medical with Arsenal and should he be successful, he will be announced as Arsenal’s second summer signing.
The highly rated centre back was one of Bolton’s best players in the just concluded season. Despite Bolton doing so badly and getting relegated to League one, Rob Holding was regarded as one of the best players in the whole of the Championship and was rightly voted as Bolton’s best player.
His signing will have an interesting implication for Calum Chambers. Chambers is 21, Rob Holding 20, both for the future but then one certainly have to go on loan unless Wenger will be retaining both and embark Chambers as the back up right back to Hector Bellerin.
