Arsenal and Chelsea have both made big offers for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Givemesport.
The two English League teams had very poor performances last season, with both teams failing to secure a spot at the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing outside the Champions league places.
Chelsea won the FA Cup last season. However, the club can still be considered as underperforming as they narrowly missed out on a top four spot. Both team’s had a bad season and are looking to improve heavily.
The defense of both club played a huge role in the poor performance last season. Arsenal have been linked with many defenders and are close to sealing a deal for Sokratis Papastathopoulos, but many will argue the club’s need for another signing to partner him.
Chelsea will also need replacement for David Luiz, who is almost certain to leave the club after falling out with Conte. A report from Spanish Publication says, Arsenal have made offer of €53 million for Napoli defender, while Chelsea have already bid €60 million.
The Senegalese International admitted last month that he is ‘calm’ about his future in Italy.
“I don’t know if I’m worth €120m €50m or €60m, but I laugh about it with my friends,” he told Vosges Matin, Per Football Italia.
“That a Senegalese could be worth €120m makes me smile, but it shows Napoli care about me. It’s better to be loved somewhere than hated elsewhere.”
“I’m calm, I know that my family are happy in Naples and my parents are happy to see me in ‘azzurro’. We’ll see what happens.”
Let’s see if the English Giants will be able to convince the Senegalese defender to accept a contract.
