Arsenal are now atop of their Champions League log, thanks to a 6-0 demolition of Bulgarian side Ludogrets at the Emirates yesterday.
Wenger made four changes from the side that beat Swansea in the Premier League last weekend. However, Santi Cazorla was a starter but was removed early in the second half.
Speaking after the match, Wenger expressed injury worries over the player as we could lose Cazorla to an achilles tendon injury.
“He got a kick on the back of his Achilles tendon and I took him off as quick as possible,” Wenger said.
“In my view he was limping a little bit so I didn’t want to take a gamble.”
The Spaniard departed during the 57th minute and fans will be hoping that the midfield maestro can shake off the knock.
Alexis Sanchez followed his teammate in departing 20 minutes later – but Wenger insisted there was little wrong with the Chilean.
“I just wanted to give him a breather,” Wenger confirmed. “Physically he looks alright.”
Part of our problems in previous seasons is that we have come out as second in our group but hopefully, we should maintain our top position in the Group A.
