Reports emerged earlier today that Arsenal new boy Lucas Perez picked up an ankle ligament injury in Arsenal’s EFL clash against Reading and will be on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
The news that he will be out for six weeks has come from one source – Eduardo Fdez-Abascal, a journalist for IBTimes UK and Diarios. We cannot say for sure anything about him or how he got the report but he is not a trusted source.
We know that Arsenal players are very fragile and it is possible that Perez will be out for long. He was terribly hit and had to be substituted for what was dubbed an aweful tackle.
It might even be that Arsenal don’t know either because these sorts of injuries usually need a few days before they can be properly diagnosed as they wait for swelling to subside.
So. Lucas has not been ruled out for six weeks. A journalist has said he’s heard that Lucas will be out for six weeks.
That might seem like the same thing, but it’s not.
Let’s just wait and see what Arsenal say, shall we? Or, at the very least, a second, independent source.
