Sad news for Arsenal fans.
There is currently a twist in Arsenal pursuit of OLympique Lyonaise goal poacher Aleksandre Lacazette – this follows from the statement made by the club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas. This is according to reports.
Arsenal had already offered £29m for the player and the club rebuffed the offer as too little for their front man. And it appears that Arsenal are to offer more for the player.
When asked whether he expected Arsenal to return with a second offer, Jean-Michel Aulas, the French club’s president, dismissed the possibility.
“Arsenal have not come back [with another offer] and they will not come back,” Aulas told L’Equipe. “No one will leave OL, except for Rachid Ghezzal if he has an offer, which I doubt.”
Just yesterday, Wenger admitted that he is still on the look out for another attacking player. The statement by Aulas means Arsenal can still go on with their chase of Riyad Mahrez.
