Arsenal have been drawn into a contract extension saga with their best players and Wenger is keen on retaining the players at the Emirates.
This report is according to the Metro,
“Arsenal are reportedly offering Alexis Sanchez a new contract worth £180,000 per week – still some way off the £250,000 he wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium.
The Chile international is known to have a big-money offer from the Chinese Super League, though he would rather remain in England at the moment, which has sparked rumoured interest from Chelsea.
Sanchez has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season with 12 goals in 16 games, but Arsenal are yet to tie him down to a new deal after months of negotiations.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Gunners’ latest offer is still a significant pay rise, but unlikely to be quite enough to persuade the 27-year-old to finally put pen to paper.
Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014 and has shone during his time in north London, with top clubs from all over the world likely to queue up to sign him if his contract remains unsigned for much longer.”
