After bolstering our squad in the summer with the signing of Granit Xhaka, Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi, Arsenal are now looking to improve and extend the contracts of some of the players.
Spain international and Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla is the final year of his contract and Juventus are already in talks with him for a move to Turin, per reports.
The midfield schemer revealed last week that he would gladly extend his contract with Arsenal, but an offer is yet to materialise.
“If they’ll offer me a new contract, I’ll sign it because I am very happy with this great club,” Cazorla told Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
“I am happy here. I am trusted by the manager and my team-mates.”
Nonetheless, Calciomercato are now in the claim that the Scudetto holders have approached Cazorla in a bid to prevent him from signing an extension with Arsenal if he’s offered.
Cazorla would become part of a midfield overhaul which is also set to include Zenit Saint-Petersburg’s Axel Witsel.
We cannot afford to lose Cazorla as he his the pivot of our midfield. It was in his absence last term that the team capitulated.
