Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shown some impressive form since his arrival from Bourssia Dortmund.
Over the years, Arsene Wenger has worked with some exceptional strikers. The likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie top the list. That said, it’s only tradition for Wenger to leave Arsenal with an attacking gift, and he goes by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Whoever the new manager may be will have Wenger to thank for the deadly Gabonese international. He has shown his worth on a number of occasions this season, even when the side isn’t performing at their best.
In Arsenal’s game with Leicester City yesterday, the striker was Arsenal’s diamond in the rough. He got the equalizing goal, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to earn the first away point of 2018 for his side.
He has a cool style, one which a lot of strikers don’t take. Aubameyang’s personality would suggest he’s a greedy player, but that statement couldn’t be more off. He actually looks to give his attacking peers the glory, rather than himself.
If he sees a player in a better position, you best believe that player is getting the ball from him. It’s refreshing to see, especially considering the competition he faces in Alexandre Lacazette.
He likes to run at defenses and cause havoc, especially with his good friend Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The two have an unmatched partnership, with the Armenian’s creativity going hand-in-hand with the Gabonese’s probing runs.
He likes to exploit space, that’s a huge trait of his. The only criticism people can make is that only scores ‘tap ins’, but is this really a bad thing? All goals matter, and they all lead to an increase in the scoreline, so I hope it continues.
