Arsenal translated their fine Premier League form to the Champions League yesterday, but we were without new boy Lucas Perez, who was left on the bench.
The victory culminated into Arsenal’s fourth in a role, racking up an impressive 13 goals in the last four games.
One question which remains unanswered is whether new signing Lucas Perez, who was left on the bench again on Wednesday, will eventually be back in the team to lead the Arsenal front-line.
Nonetheless, Arsene Wenger has revealed that his experiment with Alexis Sanchez upfront is working greatly to make any changes.
“At the moment he [Sanchez] looks like he has the ingredients to do very well there [upfront]. He’s getting stronger in every single game.” the Arsenal manager said
Theo Walcott, who has played an important part in Arsenal’s flurry of goals, has also praised the idea of teaming up with the Chilean superstar in attack.
“It has started off very well. I will look back on this game [against Basel] but, yeah, the combinations between me and him [Sanchez] are very positive at this moment in time.” Walcott said
“We seem to sort of know when we play off each other quite well. If he comes short, I go long and we have just got a good sort of combinations.”
