ARSENE WENGER refuses to rule out a shock inclusion in his first-team as Arsenal face CSKA Moscow in the Europa League.
David Ospina has been the Gunners man between the sticks in Europe this season, as stated by Wenger earlier in the season.
He even went as far to give away his team selection against AC Milan by stating that Petr Cech will have to make do with a place on the bench.
But when asked about his goalkeeper for tonight’s match, the Frenchman was a bit more coy.
When quizzed on whether he was tempted to start with Cech, who missed Sunday’s win over Stoke with a groin problem, the Gunners boss said: “I don’t know yet, I will see.
“Tomorrow (Thursday) morning I will decide that.
“I have always played Ospina, I played Ospina on Sunday. But I don’t want to give my team out.”
It will come as a huge surprise if Cech does play and a big hit to Ospina, whose future is already in doubt.
Wenger’s decision to play the 29-year-old was a promise made to him at the start of the season in order to keep him at the club.
But with the pressure on to win the competition, Wenger may be forced to abandon his plans.
Arsenal are relying on winning the Europa League to secure a place in the Champions League next season.
Sitting sixth in the Premier League, the odds on the Emirates outfit finishing in the top four are minimal.
And as a result, Cech may be forced to play after Wenger revealed that the former Chelsea stopper was fit for tonight’s match.
