Arsene Wenger has made the remarkable claim that his current Arsenal side is the most focused group of players he’s ever seen in his life.
Wenger’s latest admission over how focused his current team are might leave some fans a little confused.
The Frenchman reckons that this side is the most united one he’s ever seen in his career.
“I personally believe that my biggest pleasant experience this season is how focused the whole squad is in every single game,” Wenger said ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Red Star Belgrade.
“That’s the first time in my life I see that, how united and focused the whole squad is. I’m really honest when I say that, you cannot say any player has gone easy.
“The focus of the squad has always been exceptional. The fact that there’s a good understanding in the squad, we haven’t bought seven or eight players.
“They’ve played together for a long time, they’ve had positive and negative experiences and always responded well and they have a lot of respect for each other.”
From the outside it doesn’t exactly look that way. At the start of the season, against Liverpool for example, the Gunners looked far from United. They didn’t even look as if they’d met each other before and weren’t focused in the slightest.
