Arsenal are readying an audacious £20 million bid for Juventus youngster Paul Pogba. The Gunners were interested in the midfielder when he left Manchester United on a free transfer to join the Old Lady and Wenger has reignited his interest.
Pogba had a successful season with the Turin club last season, making 22 starts and winning the Scudetto. He also started in Juve’s 4-0 victory over Lazio in the Italian Super Cup, opening the scoring but may feel a move way would help him develop even further with Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio all vying for the same position.
A move to the Emirates would guarantee him a starting place and more game time than at Juventus. With this season being a World Cup year, the chance of regular football could be too hard to reject. Wenger is ready to splash £20 million to capture the French youngster.
Pogba will add much needed steel to the Arsenal midfield and will give the club a natural midfield anchor allowing Mikel Arteta to operate in a more attacking role when he returns to full fitness.
The Gunners defeat to Aston Villa on the opening day of the Premier League has put Wenger under incredible pressure to make some signings and Pogba is set to become his main target before the clubs Premier League fixture against Fulham. He would also be available to help the club in their Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce.
